The makeup and beauty industry is constantly evolving and new trends are popping up on a daily basis – and we want to try them all out! Explore your creative side and dive deep into your makeup bag, let go of any conventional ideas you might have about applying makeup, and try these makeup trends of the 21st century:

Multi-Colored

A great way to experiment with color is to apply several contrasting eyeshadow hues to your eyelids – blue and orange, purple and yellow, blue and red, or red and green. You can take it a step further by applying two shades of one color on the top lid and the contrasting color on the bottom lid – just remember your eyeshadow primer, to ensure the color sticks!

Extra, Clumpy Mascara

No need for false eyelashes when you can really pile up the mascara product to create a fluttering eyelash appeal – forget about an all natural, barely there mascara. Fan your lashes out and apply a plant-based sunflower, carnauba, and bayberry wax mascara from the root to the tip; clump your eyelashes together to create a flutter look.

Animal Print

The animal print will never go out of style, whether it’s on handbags, shoes, or clothes – we love it! And now you can put it on your eyelids too. Add a soft background eyeshadow to your lid and apply leopard prints on top; the look might take some skill, but you can attempt it even if you are a newbie.

Neon Corners

21st century makeup trends are all about breaking the habits and conventions, instead of applying eyeshadow to your entire lid, only adorn the inner corners. Apply a neon-colored eyeshadow to the inner corners of your eyes by gently tapping the product in a corner – combined with a thick black eyeliner, this look is insanely minimalist and fresh!

Structured Brows

If there is one thing that has changed in style and trend over the centuries – it is brows, forget about the big unkempt style from a few years ago and go for a more structured look. Using a clear brow gel, you can polish, structure, brush, and place your natural hair browline in place – enhance your strong brows by going over them with a brow pencil.

Popping Lower-Liner

In many cases, our lower lids get neglected, but not anymore! Now you can make your lower eyelid pop by adding a neon bright lower-liner. Line your lower eyelid with a bright and popping color, apply as thick or as thin as you wish – preferably a lighter shade of the color shade you have on your top lid.

Colorful Mascara

Sure, black mascara is classic and fits into any situation and style – but why don’t we give it a little bit of a break and exchange it for something more colorful. Put your black mascara to the side and apply a deep blue, bright pink, or green mascara instead – combined with the same-color eyeshadow, this look is fierce!

Bling-Bling

We can never sparkle too much, and therefore, we can never add too much glitter, diamond, and sparkle onto our lashes. Get your hands on some golden studs, small glitters, or even Swarovski crystals and place them strategically on and next to your eyelids – it’s a real showstopper!

Blush Enhance

In the past, we were very scared of popping and enhanced blush on our cheeks, it was only applied on the apple of the cheek – not anymore! Give a healthy dose of pink blush to your apples, temples, and the brow bone for a super enhanced pink cheek look.

We all know makeup and beauty trends circulate extremely quickly, so, jump on board before they go out of style, or your friends beat you to it – let’s go!
